JoLA announces a new call for papers for a special issue that critically focuses and reflects on the concept of ‘decolonization’ in relation to landscape and the history, theory, methodology and practice of landscape architecture from various ontological, historical, political and social perspectives across geographies.
The topics may include, but are not limited to: · Concepts and practices of ‘landscape decolonization’ · Decolonial answers to biopolitics: human/non-human · Climate transition, social, political and environmental crises from decolonial perspectives · Political economy of land, landscape architecture and decolonization · Neo-coloniality and landscape architecture · Pluriversal approaches and perspectives · Planetary thinking and practices · Care and repair · Indigenous landscapes · Non-extractive landscape architecture(s)
Please submit abstracts (500 words maximum, visuals encouraged).
Deadline for abstracts is 15 March 2025. Abstracts for all manuscript sections are welcome. Full papers must be written by 15 September 2025. Please submit your abstracts to burcu.yigit.turan@slu.se.
