Pyro-landscapes are environments where fire is a constitutive ecological force, shaping vegetation cycles, soil renewal, and habitat dynamics. They include both fire-adapted ecosystems and landscapes transformed by human burning practices. In the age of climate change, pyro-landscapes oscillate between controlled stewardship and catastrophic wildfire. They foreground fire as both destructive and regenerative, destabilizing simple dichotomies of harm and care.
