The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) has announced Günther Vogt, who received LILA 2025 Honour Award, as the recipient of the 2025 Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award, the highest honour bestowed by the Federation. The award recognises a landscape architect whose lifetime achievements have had a profound and enduring impact on the discipline worldwide. The award is presented at the IFLA World Congress 2025 in Nantes.

Vogt, founder of VOGT Landscape Architects, has shaped contemporary landscape practice through a body of work that moves fluently between large urban commissions and sensitive ecological interventions. His projects – including the open-space design for London’s Tate Modern, Munich’s Allianz Arena, the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main, and the Masoala Rainforest Hall in Zurich – have established new benchmarks for the integration of cultural, ecological, and social dimensions in the urban realm.

The jury emphasised Vogt’s ability to bridge practice and academia, cultivating dialogue between theory, research, and design. His teaching, writings, and leadership have consistently advanced a deeper understanding of the landscape as both material and cultural medium.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Jellicoe Award has recognised leading voices in the field. Named after IFLA’s founding president, the award celebrates individuals whose vision, leadership, and professional excellence have made an indelible mark on the discipline, reflecting the power of landscape architecture to shape both human and ecological futures.
